Further to our announcement to the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange on 23 July 1999 in respect of the above subject, we set out below an update on the subject.
Our remaining operating subsidiaries which are yet to be Y2K ready under the Synergy Card & Payment Services Sdn Bhd ("SCPS") Group of Companies are still targeting to be Y2K ready before 30 September 1999.
SCPS Group is finalising with their card system vendor on all the outstanding Y2K issues relating to their card system and is still working closely with their identified third parties to minimise the impact of third parties' Y2K non-readiness. SCPS Group plans to conclude by mid September 1999 the purchase of a vendor certified Y2K ready card system for contingency which will ensure continuity of business in the event the current card system is not fully Y2K compliant.
