On behalf of the Board of Directors of ASB and UMG, Perdana Bankers is pleased to announce that further to the announcement made on 6 August 1999, UMG has been informed that on 13 August 1999, Perdana Bankers, PFB and UMF have each signed a memorandum of understanding ("MOU") with Southern Bank Berhad ("SBB") to negotiate the terms and conditions of their respective definitive merger agreements on the proposed merger with the SBB Group.
The details of the definitive merger agreements will be announced upon their finalisation.
UMG is a 50.75% subsidiary of ASB. UMF is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UMG, Perdana Bankers is a 70.1% subsidiary of UMG and PFB is a 88.0% subsidiary of Perdana Bankers.
